The one who makes the blue

At dawn, when the sun has not yet risen, Azuleiro, “the one who makes the blue,” travels along the Atlantic coast to paint it from top to bottom. He crosses seas, estuaries, and mountains, wrapped in a cloak of seaweed and saltpeter, painting the blue that the night took away. He paints the waves, the breeze, and the horizon where the fishermen work. And so, in silence, when the sun arrives, the coast awakens, calm and beautiful, under the Atlantic sky, dressed in blue. Only then, Azuleiro, opens the bottle and slowly drinks the light of the dawn.
